- I’m on the train headed north. I spent the extra $60 bucks
to take first class . There’s two older guys sitting in front
of me on my right. One has a super bowl ring on. I can’t make
out the year. Its packed with diamonds and a red stone in the center.
This guy (who is actually facing me) keeps talking about some business
proposal
with over 5 billion dollars in assets. Sounds cool, Right? In between
talking to his friend , he keeps looking at me. Since I have no
problem with eye contact, I look back. He’s somewhere in his
fifties, well groomed and cared for. . Sort of a Connecticut daddy
type.
I get up to go to the
bathroom. He follows me. O.k. I know the deal. I’m amused.
He says "hi" and asks me where I’m going. I tell
him, “Cape Cod, for a day or two, then back home. “
We talk some more. He’s nice . He has a slight stutter which
makes him seem even sweeter. I can tell he was a jock at some point.
He lives in D.C. now. We smile. Although my intent is strictly ego
boosting - we both know what the sub text is. He gives me his card
and says "if you ever need investment advice give me a call."
I know he’s out of my league on that front, but since that's
not what he means we are even..
I slip the card in to my pocket. Its funny the way the ego rises
and falls on the actions of complete strangers. I’m addicted
to the rush of affection like a monkey addicted to cocaine.
It dawns on me that biology trumps all; morality, ethics and even
love. For that reason alone I know I will keep the card . Besides
I might just need some investment advice.

Blowoff was a blast Saturday night. . Nick put together the visuals
that included artwork by Michael
Alago, Jim
Adams, Pat
and the original blowoff cards that Bob
had designed. Its amazing to see what Blowoff has become and how
many friends I have made because of it. Since I was a kid music
and art has been the tie between me and my buddies. Blowoff makes
the circle bigger and more sexy. Thanks.

... Been listening to the 2 hour - 1970 John Lennon - Rolling Stone
interview--podcast.
For Beatle fans its a glimpse into what Lennon was about- (on that
day anyway). He articulates his view of what the Beatles were, as
musicians , as men and as myth.
No secrets here.

A couple Pink Noise items:
Morel's Pink Noise remix
of New Order's "Krafty" ( also includes remixes by Eric
Kupper, and DJ Dan ) came in at number 8 on Billboard's
2005 top club play chart . The Vivian Green dance single -"Gotta
Go Gotta Leave" (which included my mix) came in at number 8
on the Billboard
year end dance singles sales chart as well. The remix I did
for Vivian Green was among my personal favorites of last year. She
is such a great singer and I was able to put the song in a classic
soul space with just piano, bass and wah guitar. And some reverb...
Morel's Pink Noise remix
of Ananda Projects "Shouldn't Have Left Me" is now available
on Itunes.

jan 4, 2006....Another
year down. Wow. Fast. Its hard to focus. A good year. The one thing
I’ve noticed is my approach to everything has changed. My
work is more fractured and about smaller moments. Less thematic
and more about single events. But in a strange way this makes it
more thematic. On the musical side my approach has become more loose.
I am now truly obsessed with the dub mix. Sometimes words fuck up
what you are trying to say anyway.
How far does
it go? When I posted my FischerSpooner remix I was curious
how far it would go.
While I’ve gotten quite a few emails about it I was glad to
see this
post as well.
Here’s the dub mix for you.

"Kick In The Teeth (Morel's Pink Noise Dub).mp3"
Everyone was sexy in
my wet dream. Lets have a good year.
December 20,
2005 - My remix of the Veronicas' “4 Ever”
is available at Itunes today.
